Chocolate Mousse Recipe from Swell C of E Primary School

Swell C of E Primary School are a small rural primary school who really enjoy their weekly cookery lessons. They have kindly sent in this recipe for Chocolate Mousse, perfect as a cookery club recipe.

This Chocolate Mousse does not use raw egg whites and so is safe for children of all ages to make. It is quick, easy and delicious!

Ingredients:

  • 150g mini marshmllows (large ones are fine just cut them up).
  • 50g butter.
  • 250g plain chocolate broken up.
  • 60ml hot water.
  • 1 x 300ml tub double cream.

Method:

  • Put the marshmallows, butter, chocolate and water in a heavy based saucepan.
  • Put the saucepan on the hob over a low heat, melt the ingredients, stirring occasionally.
  • Whip the cream until thick and then fold into the cooling mixture until smooth.
  • Pour into small dishes and cool.
